Sara Rennie Heretick, NCTM, CMT

Sara is a native of Richmond, VA currently practicing therapeutic massage and bodywork in her North Richmond studio.  After spending 18 years in health care administration and operations for anesthesia/pain management practices, both academic and private, Sara seized the opportunity to change her life.  She decided to further her education in the field of alternative wellness therapies and entered the American Institute of Massage’s intensive program.  This program entailed over 100 hours of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology along with 500 classroom and practicum hours in a wide range of massage and bodywork techniques.  Sara is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association as well as a business partner through the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce.

Sara has developed her own style of therapeutic muscle therapy which draws from a wide array of techniques.  Her intuitive nature allows her to see each client individually and develop unique treatment plans for each client.  She strives to educate the client on the numerous non-invasive, drug-free benefits of manual muscle therapy.  Many hours of continuing education in areas of sports therapy, lymphatic massage, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release techniques, ashiatsu (barefoot massage), proprioneuromuscular facilitation and active isolated stretching give Sara a tremendous knowledge base from which to derive her treatment plans.
